Well, our worst fears are true. Wayne (band camp) Hunter looks set to pull out of the 2007 invite only tour due to family commitments. We're all very sorry to hear this at Aroundtheworld as wayne has been a key player in some of our most recent tours. A constant source of entertainment and even ridicule. Known best for his sharp dress sense and menthal tabs he will be sorely missed by all.
We checked out his story and managed to obtain some insight into the reasons by people who know him well.
We sat outside his parents house for agood 20 minutes but nobody seemed to be in.
We drove into town and waited for his fiancee to arrive at work. Maz, a 34 year old mother of one, who works as a cleaner at the local Woolworths store accused us of being sad b******* and told us to f*** off and get a life.
We don't think she likes his friends very much.
So we drove back to wait outside his parents house. On arrival we noticed that the curtains had been pulled. We can only assume they had been tipped off by Maz.
We hung around for over an hour and nobody entered or left the house. A passing bus driver stopped and asked us to move our cameras out of the road. This is what he had to say about Wayne. "Yeah I know the bloke you mean. He drives that big 4x4 like a crazy t***. His parents are very nice genuine people. I don't know him personally but I can imagine why he's not going. I've been turning my bus here for years and he's never even spoken to me. Damn right rude and up his own a** if you ask me." We thanked the driver for his comments and wished him well.
We can only conclude, if he behaves like this to all local people trying to earn a living, it's probably for the best if he doesn't come. Our only fear is it's likely to catch on.
